Add and delete pages

Overview

You can both add and delete pages to your existing site by using various options in our editor.

Use the Add Page feature to create new pages from pre-populated templates or new pages converted from an existing desktop webpage. These options are accessible by clicking the Add Page button at the bottom of the Pages section. The new page will be added to your navigation.

Click the Add Page button in the Editor under the Pages section found on the left side to get started.

Adding a page from a URL

This lets you add from a URL on a site. It will automatically mobilize the page and cause any changes made on the live page to sync over.

Steps

  1. Select the Page URL button
  2. Name the page and enter the desktop URL to import content from.  Check the box next to "Don't mobilize this page" if you'd like to display the original desktop version.
  3. Click the Add Page button to generate the new page.
  4. Your page will now be available in the list of pages on the left, as well as the navigation in the website itself. Go ahead and show or hide it, edit it, or otherwise manipulate it as you would any other page.

Adding a basic page

  1. Select the type of page you would like to create. Note that if you wish to create from a completely blank page the best method is to choose the Basic Page option then delete the few items that are automatically generated once the page is created.
  2. Name the new page. This will be the name displayed on the button in your navigation that leads to your new page as well as the name used in the editor to identify the page.
  3. Click the Add Page button to generate the new page.
  4. Your page will now be available in the list of pages on the left, as well as the navigation in the website itself. Go ahead and show or hide it, edit it, or otherwise manipulate it as you would any other page.

Delete a page

Sometimes you just can't stand the way a page looks, or have added a page by accident, or would like to simplify your website by removing pages. For these occasions, our "Delete Page" option is precisely what you need. You can access the "Delete Page" button on any page by following three simple steps:

Steps

1. Go to "Pages"

2. Select the page

3. Select the "delete page" button in the Page Info box

Be careful when you delete a page that it's the one you mean to delete - you can't recover pages you've deleted!

Troubleshooting and FAQ's

I can't delete a page

If you're having trouble deleting a page, the following steps will fix 90% of the issues that can arise:

1. Go to design -> layout -> customize

2. Hover over the page you're trying to delete, and press the "Change Link" button (looks like a chain)

3. Select "Click to Call" from the radio button menu

4. Enter a random phone number (this can be anything)

5. Press Done

6. Reload the editor (shortcuts are ctrl-R or command-R)

7. Follow the above directions for deleting the page in question. You should be good to go!

A page in editor that I added is returning a 404 message / site is not available message

If the page your mobile website is linked to is bringing you to a 404 message/site not found message in your browser, it means that link is no longer valid.

There are two ways to go about fixing this issue. You can do either of the following;

  • If you want to save your changes, you can turn off auto sync for the site. To do this, first go to the page you want to turn off auto sync for. Once there, click SEO & page settings. After you've done that, turn off the box that says always auto sync. Hit done, then refresh your editor.
  • If that doesn't fix it or you want to fix the linking of the site, simply delete the page and create a new one. When asked for which page to create, select Page URL and paste in the correct URL that you want the mobile site to convert from.

If that also doesn't work, simply create a basic page instead in your editor (not linked to a desktop page).
